An Introvert's Paradise
the urge to step out is stronger than you.
Honestly, I was more cool than this,
Obviously not being laughed at was bliss.
One day I shut my eyes and heard you,
You laughed just because I was standing behind you.
I ran away and opened a book,
Maybe hiding away was better than it looked.
I read ideas, and words and grabbed knowledge from pages,
Surprised at how a single bundle can hold a wisdom of ages.
My presence in the class as a speaker was rarer,
But, this naive to the world was stronger in the mirror.
You had my personality set as default in mind,
I knew everyone looked at me but their gaze was blind.
I had moments alone staring at the rest of the world,
Thoughts that I should've been a part of the herd.
Soon the opinions were formed and the chase began,
Societies were formed and behind the crowd, we ran.
Among all these people, how can I find Solace?
But the conversations started and those realities we faced.
I can be an extrovert at times, I thought,
Offering them cozy corners from the historic battles never fought.
Maybe everyone is looking for that escape,
from the default personalities that societies have shaped.
Where every emotion is counted and silences reside.
Maybe everyone is looking for that Introvert's Paradise.
